Today’s Doncaster cup has radically changed fortunes as the favourite Mizzou was pulled from the card due to an abscess. Trainer Luca Cumani was naturally disappointed as he had been training really well and the son of Galileo had not run since Royal Ascot when The Order of St George was just too good for him. Cumani said the abscess would not take long to clear and he was already looking for Mizzou’s next opportunity.

This brings Quest for More into the top favourite place for today, he last raced at York and came first in that group two race so he can do this today, as long as it doesn’t rain before and the ground stays firm he should favour the conditions. Odds on Quest for More today are 11/4 with Skybet.

Clondaw Warrior is next in the top spot, this Willie Mullins-trained horse is being ridden by Ryan Moore today, this could be all he need to step up to the plate today and take the prize money. Moore is in contention for the Jockeys Championships this year and after a spell out injured is regaining the lead in the race. Clondaw Warrior came second on his last race here, he knows the track and although he did falter in his last race, I would bet on him to come back today. He has respectful odds this morning of 4/1 with William Hill.

Sheikhzayedroad is third in the favourites list now and after a month off, he last rode at Goodwood where he came third, this David Simcock-trained horse can do big things, let’s hope the weather stays dry and the course stays In good condition so we get a great race. Odds on Sheikhzayedroad this morning are 6/1 with Ladbrokes.

Plenty of other racing around today with cards at Chester, Salisbury and Sandown as well as Down Royal in Ireland, tomorrow’s big race is the Ladbrokes St Leger, we did a profile of the race the other day but tomorrow we’ll give you an update on the odds, how they’ve changed, but basically Idaho is still the favourite and it’s believed by trainers and jockeys alike that he hasn’t reached his full potential yet, definitely one to watch.

Good Luck today.
