Today we head to Newmarket where there’s a busy card with eight races on the card today, kicking off at 1.05 this afternoon and finishing at 5.55. We are looking at the 5.25 where there are only six runners but an unlikely outsider Star Storm is causing a stir. Odds-on Star Storm have dropped rapidly from 18/1 to 10/1 this morning, showing there is some interest in this James Fanshawe-trained horse who has three wins from eleven races, but if this ground and length suits this could be a really nice earner today. Star Storm has odds of 12/1 with Paddy Power this morning.

The favourite, as far as the bookies are concerned is Dal Harraild, this William Haggas trained horse came third on his last outing at Ascot but from his previous nine starts has won three times and been placed in the others. Not a bad shout today but obviously that affects his odds and this morning they are 9/4 with Coral.

Next up is Barsanti, who to me has an even better record than Dal Harraild, with ten runs, four wins and five placed, he won last time out at York so big things will be expected of him today at Newmarket by his trainer Roger Varian and it has to be said Varian’s stable is on fire at the moment so watch this space. Odds on Barsanti this morning are 11/4 with Ladbrokes.

Third in the top is John Gosden’s Furia Cruzada, ridden by Frankie Dettori, which is sort of enough said! Furia Cruzada is an experienced horse with nineteen runs under his belt already. Out of those nineteen, he’s won six and been placed seven and last time out he was sixth at York, but that looks like a blip compared to his previous races and he’s had a break since then so today could be a great comeback for him. Odds on Furia Cruzada this morning are 5/1 with William Hill.

Plenty of other racing around today with cards at Newcastle, Haydock and Worcester as well as Downpatrick and Dundalk in Ireland.

Good Luck today.
