Champions League

Tonight sees the final lot of the second round of the Champions League group stage with another two English teams in action and both of them really needing a win.

Man Utd lost their opening game of the group stage away to PSV by two goals to one. This was after taking the lead and they were having been disappointed not to have come away with at least a point. It means they will be desperate to win their home matches starting with tonights visit of Wolfsburg. The German team have made a reasonable start to their league campaign and currently sit in fourth place so they won't be rolled over easily at Old Trafford.

Utd currently top the Premier League but in my opinion they haven't looked particularly impressive. They have a tough run of games coming up now so it is imperative they get the win tonight. Big money signing Anthony Martial looks to have settled into this Utd team with ease and he adds a good physical presence up front alongside Wayne Rooney. I think if they can get these two involved early on then they should have enough to cause Wolfsburg plenty of problems and be good enough to take the three points here.

Man City lost their opening group stage match at home to Juventus which leaves them playing catch up now. They travel to German side Borussia Monchengladbach and will be confident of getting back on track. Monchengladbach have had a poor start to their league season and sit near the bottom end of the table. They were also well beaten by three goals to nil by Sevilla in their opening group match in this competition.

It appears that City will be without defenders Kompany and Mangala which will be a blow but they have the players to deputise and have plenty of options going forward. They need a boost to their confidence as their league form has taken a dip with consecutive losses against West Ham and Spurs. However, I think there will be a gulf in class between the two sides tonight and expect City to win easily enough.

Biotic is easily the best horse in this race and he has been in excellent form of late. His latest victory at Kempton was an eased down four lengths and although he has shot up in the weights there should be plenty more to come from this four year old. This is an open betting race and I feel that Biotic is overpriced given the opposition he faces today and the level of form he is currently showing.

Today's Selections
