Arsenal vs Leicester City – Friday 11th August 2017 – 19:45 - Sky Sports 1

Arsenal are 4/9 with Alexandre Lacazette at 11/4 to score first.

Arsenal face Leicester at the Emirates Stadium on Friday night, in the opening match of the 2017/18 Premier League season.

The Gunners come into this match in good form, after beating Chelsea on penalties in the Community Shield.

Victor Moses gave Chelsea the lead just after the break (46), with the Nigerian international chesting and volleying past Petr Cech.

Pedro was given a straight red card for a cynical foul on Mohamed Elneny in the 80th minute.

Sead Kolasinac (82) capped an impressive debut for Arsenal, with a headed goal with eight minutes to go.

That goal meant the game eventually went to penalties, with the Gunners winning that shootout 4-1.

Pressure On Wenger

The Gunners will be delighted to start their season with another Wembley win, but the pressure is on Arsene Wenger now.

After their poor finish last season the Gunners will need to prioritise winning the Premier League.

This will be an enormous task given the quality of sides in the league, but Arsenal fans will be expecting nothing less.

Gunners Favourites

Arsenal come into this match as the favourites, with Arsenal's recent form and home advantage informing the odds.

The Gunners will be looking to win this opening fixture, with a league win their ultimate aim.

Arsenal have won 48 of the 98 meetings between the two sides, losing 18 and drawing 32 of those matches.

Big Challenge

The Foxes come into this match on the back of a 2-1 win against Borussia Monchengladbach, a great result for Shakespeare's side.

Thorgan Hazard opened the scoring (46), with a fine strike that brother Eden would have been proud of.

Jamie Vardy scored his first goal of pre-season 20 minutes later (67), making the score 1-1.

The England international returned seven minutes later (74), with new strike partner Iheanacho unselfishly teeing up Vardy.

It was an excellent run out for Leicester, against a strong German outfit, they will be ready for Arsenal.

Foxes Need Start

Leicester had a mixed campaign last season, with the defending Champions failing to find any fluidity in the league.

Such was the precarious nature of their situation at one stage, the club decided to sack title winning manager Ranieri.

Under Shakespeare, Leicester will be expected to hit the ground running and produce a better domestic campaign than last season.

They have signed a great player in Kelechi Iheanacho, he will provide excellent support for Jamie Vardy.

Leicester Underdogs

Craig Shakespeare's side come into this match as underdogs, with their record last season informing the bookies.

This will be a tough match for Leicester, with Arsenal looking in excellent form of late.

Leicester will be looking for a first league win against Arsenal since 1994 when they won 2-1.

Leicester are 11/2 with Jamie Vardy at 17/2 to score first.
