September finished off well with the Manchester Utd and City double landing for us last night. Over the course of the month we managed to make a shade under 50 points profit which I am extremely happy with. Let's hope we can get October off to as good a start.

Europa League

Liverpool host FC Sion of the Swiss Super League tonight and will be hoping to add three points to the one they picked up in France against Bordeaux two weeks ago. Brendan Rodgers will again make some changes, especially with the Merseyside Derby coming up on Sunday, but they should still have more than enough to take care of Sion.

Sion currently sit fifth in their league having already lost four out of the ten games they have played so far. They will come to Anfield, sit deep and look to hit Liverpool on the counter attack. Daniel Sturridge has just returned from injury so will sit this one out and Danny Ings has played quite a bit recently so he may be on the bench which would give Divock Origi the chance to impress.

Although the Liverpool defence has had it's issues in recent weeks it has also kept a few clean sheets this season, therefore the price of 7/4 on Liverpool to win to nil appeals most here.

Tottenham travel to Monaco and I am sure that they will also make plenty of changes for this one. They had a comfortable 3-1 win in this first group game so will feel that the pressure is off a little here.

Monaco are mid table in the French league and they are not a particularly strong side. Spurs will come here in high spirits after their excellent 4-1 victory over the then league leaders Man City at the weekend and I think they may have enough to win this even with a weakened team. It is too tricky a game to call for an actual selection however and I am more interested the 'both teams to score' market. It is odds on in most places but Unibet go odds against at 13/12 and I think this is overpriced and definitely worth a bet.

Richard Johnson riding for Jonjo O'Neill is always a combination to look out for and I think they have a great chance of making it another winning outcome here. Top Spin hasn't won for nearly two years but he was a good second on his most recent outing at Market Rasen and the extra distance here should really suit him. He previous race looks a strong one with five of the horses in that one winning since and Top Spin was well supported that day on his first start for the yard. I am sure he will be involved at the business end of this one and will be surprised if he doesn't take the spoils.
