Huddersfield face Southampton at the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday afternoon, in a packed round of Premier league matches.

The Terriers come into this match on the back of another win, this time a 2-1 win against Yorkshire neighbours Rotherham.

They got off to a nightmare start, with Semi Ajayi opening the scoring for Rotherham in the first minute.

It took until the second half for the home side to equalise, with Phillip Billing stepping up from the penalty spot (52).

Joe Lolley scored what proved to be the winner just two minutes later (54), giving the Terriers another impressive win.

New Season

The Saints come into this match in mixed form, especially after losing 2-0 at home against Wolves in the Carabao Cup.

Mauricio Pellegrino's Saints have been knocked out of the cup at the first time of asking, a terrible result for last years finalists.

Danny Batth opened the scoring for the visitors (67), with the Wolves man heading past the Saints defence to make it 1-0.

Donovan Wilson added insult to injury for the Saints, his first senior goal (87) ensuring the match ended 2-0.

For Southampton, it was an embarrassing defeat, and their continued struggles in front of goal will worry Pellegrino.

Tough Follow Up

It will be a tough season for Mauricio Pellegrino, despite his Saints side already recording their first win.

They are unbeaten in the league after an opening day draw against Swansea, and the win against West Ham.

Both matches were at home and both are matches that Saints manager Pellegrino would have expected them to win.

The league cup defeat will have worried the manager though, even though the Saints made six changes.
