???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

The final day of a thrilling Goodwood week is upon us and it culminates with the main race being the Nassau Stakes. One of only two Group 1 races this week it is the stand out race on the card today and not an easy one to solve.

Legatissimo, winner of the 1,000 Guineas, is the clear favourite at best price 15/8 but there are certainly doubts about this filly with two subsequent second place finishes including a short head behind Diamondsandrubies on her latest start at the Curragh. She was also second in the Oaks where she just couldn't keep her head in front long enough. Now there is no doubting she is a quality horse, but 7/4 about a horse that has been pipped twice in recent outings is not for me.

Diamondsandrubies beat the favourite as mentioned and although there was talk about Legatissimo not getting a clear run there it will be equally hard to find the right gap here, so I think it's incredible that the O'Brien horse is double the price.

Lady of Dubai was third in the Oaks two and a half lengths behind Legatissimo, however the drop back in trip will be a definite plus.

Star of Seville is the pick of the three John Gosden runners and was an excellent winner of the Prix De Diane Longines at Chantilly despite an awkward draw. She was a long way behind in the Oaks after being hampered but showed her true colours in France and at 7/1 I think she is fantastic value in this open looking race.

Wedding Vow was a nice winner in a Group 2 at the Curragh in her latest run which further adds to the depth of this field and it would be no surprise to see her make the frame and a nice price.

Football is back

The Premiership starts next week and we have the final weekend of pre season friendlies including the Community Shield this weekend.

Liverpool travel to Helsinki with this being the last chance the players have to stake their claim for a starting position against Stoke next Sunday. Helsinki had a Champions League first leg qualifying match on Wednesday so it is very unlikely they will play anything like their first eleven, therefore I think Liverpool on the handicap is a good option. I am going to play a few positions here as I am confident Liverpool will score plenty of goals against a Helsinki reserve side.

Today's Selections

Goodwood 15:10 Star of Seville - 1 point @ 7/1

HJK Helsinki v Liverpool - Liverpool -2 - 3 points @ 7/4, Liverpool -3 - 2 points @ 16/5 & Liverpool -4 - 1 point @ 13/2

I trust you have got hold of Jason to have a go about your selection yesterday! You get a winner like that & it is treated like a non runner. I am sure Jason is trying to run down this part of the site as it does not earn him any money. I do not think he even looks at the comments anymore.
