Atletico Madrid vs Chelsea – Wednesday 27th September 2017 – 19:45 - BT Sports

Atletico Madrid

Atletico are 21/20 with Antoine Griezmann at 7/2 to score first.

Atletico face Chelsea at their brand new stadium the Wanda Metropolitano on Wednesday evening, in the second round of Champions League group stage matches.

Diego Simeone's side come into this match in good form, having registered a 2-0 win against Sevilla at the weekend.

Yannick Ferreira Carrasco opened the scoring straight after the interval (46), with his right footed shot giving them a 1-0 lead.

Antoine Griezmann doubled the hosts advantage (69), making it 2-0 with a left footed shot to give them all three points.

All of the talk pre match will be of the transfer of Diego Costa, who Atletico completed a deal for during the week, despite their transfer ban.

Unbeaten Season

That result means that Atleti continue their unbeaten start to this season, with no defeats in all competitions.

They are second in La Liga as it stands, with 14 points from their opening six matches, only Barcelona are ahead of them.

Atletico Madrid now turn their attention to the Champions League, a competition they have been so close to winning.

They drew their opening Group C fixture away against Roma, it is a tough group they find themselves in this term.

Atletico Favourites

Atleti do come into this match as favourites, with home advantage informing the odds.

Simeone's side will be looking to win this fixture, maximising their home games albeit against a tough Chelsea side.

Simeone's side have lost just one game against Chelsea in the Champions League, that was back in 2009.

Excellent Win

The Blues come into this match in good form, having registered a thumping 4-0 win against Stoke at the weekend.

Alvaro Morata was undoubtedly the man of the match for Chelsea, with his first Chelsea hat-trick (2, 77, 82).

The Spaniard has been an excellent acquisition for Conte's side, on this evidence its hard to see Chelsea missing Costa too much.

The other Chelsea goal was scored by another Spaniard, this time Pedro scored to make it 2-0 to Chelsea (30).

It means Chelsea maintain their 100% away record this term in the Premier League, something that will delight Conte.

Unbeaten Run

Antonio Conte will be looking to continue his sides winning sequence, having beaten Stoke.

They haven't lost a fixture since the opening game of the season against Burnley, winning five of their last six games.

Chelsea won their opening match against Karabakh in style, smashing six past their Group C opponents.

It means that Chelsea sit top of the group going into this game, a point here would be an excellent result.

Blues Underdogs

Chelsea come into this match as underdogs, with Atletico's pedigree and home advantage informing the odds.

The Blues will be delighted with a point here, with away matches in the Champions League difficult to negotiate.

Conte's side will be looking for just their second win against Atletico in the Champions League.

Chelsea are 29/10 with Alvaro Morata at 5/1 to open the scoring.
