Chelsea face Karabakh at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening, in the first round of Champions League group stage matches this season.

The Blues come into this match in good form, having registered their third straight win to beat Leicester 2-1 at the King Power Stadium at the weekend.

Much of the pre match talk centred on Danny Drinkwater, with the midfielder making his debut against his old employers.

Chelsea turn their attentions to the Champions League, a competition they were notably absent from last season.

This will be Conte's first game in charge of Chelsea in Europe, he will be looking to secure an opening group stage win.

The Blues will be looking to win this fixture, with Karabakh one of the weaker sides in the group.

Conte's side will be looking for their fourth win of the season in five matches, they have never faced Karabakh in European competition before.

Karabakh come into this match on the back of a 2-1 defeat away against Copenhagen, a good result.

With a 1-0 win in the first leg, Karabakh came into this match with a slender lead and needed a good result.

They produced a solid performance in the first half but found themselves behind in stoppage time

Dino Ndlovu (63) scored what proved to be the deciding goal in this qualifying match, giving Karabakh a vital away goal.

Andrija Pavlovic restored the hosts lead just three minutes later (66), but it was enough as Copenhagen crashed out on away goals.

 

Champions League Target

Karabakh will have been delighted to progress to the Champions League group stages.

To beat a side of the calibre of Copenhagen is an excellent achievement for the Azerbaijan side.

With Atletico Madrid, Chelsea and Roma in their group a win against any of those sides would be an incredible achievement.

Karabakh Underdogs

The visitors come into this match as underdogs, with Chelsea's pedigree and home advantage informing the odds.

This will be a tough match for Karabakh, being competitive will be enough for them.

Karabakh have never faced Chelsea in a competitive fixture before.
