Roger Varian’s Sharja Queen is running at Salisbury today in the 3.50, in the EDF Stallions Upavon Fillies Stakes, where there are eight runners over one mile, one furlong and one hundred and ninety-eight yards. The daughter of Pivotal is expected to do well here again today after winning here in early June over the same distance, with some style. Not thought of as favourite today, there is some stiff competition, Sharja Queen has odds today of 11/8 with Paddy Power.

Sharja Queen

Sagaciously is the tipster’s favourite, Ed Dunlop certainly believes so too, out of her twelve runs, she’s had three wins and one second place, her last run at Goodwood saw her breeze up to the finish line, so it will be a great race today for these two. Sagaciously has odds of 6/1 with William Hill this morning.

Luca Cumani has Very Dashing running today and she is the bookies third favourite, with only three runs under her belt, with one first place and one second, she could be the one to really watch for improvement today. If she has travelled well and the ground suits her she could fly past the other two. Odds on Very Dashing are a healthy 6/1 with Skybet.

Henry Candy’s Chain of Daisies, although not the favourite is the only horse that has won in a listed race level is on form, as is the Candy stable at the moment. She has really healthy odds today and is in great shape with nine starts this season and four wins from those nine. Odds on Chain of Daisies this morning are 6/1 with Coral.

There is plenty of other racing around today, Bath has a card this evening, starting at 5.20, the weather is fine here and set to stay that way all day. There is also racing at Beverley, Kempton and Newton Abbot in England and across the Irish Sea, there is racing today at Gowran Park this evening.
