14:25 William Hill May Hill Stakes
This is a Group 2 for two-year-old fillies being run over a mile and a few of these runners are quite prominent in next year's 1,000 Guineas betting.
The front running Nyaleti is a horse I have been impressed with this season and she trounced a Group 3 field last time out over six furlongs. Prior to that, she was a decent second place to the current 1,000 Guineas favourite, Clemmie, and her only try so far over seven furlongs resulted in another second placed finish behind September. She is bred to get this extra but I am sure she will need to be ridden with a little more restraint over a mile with James Doyle doing the steering on her for the first time today.
Billesdon Brook has had a lot of racing for a two-year-old, having run seven times already this year. She hasn't finished outside of the first three in all seven races and has three victories to her name. She was a fine winner of a Group 3 at Goodwood over seven furlongs last time out and prior to that she won a nursery handicap on soft going at the same course, so today's conditions shouldn't prove too much of a problem for her. In both of those wins, she was staying on strongly over seven furlongs so it is likely that the extra furlong in this will bring out further improvement and she will be tough to beat.
15:00 DFS Park Hill Stakes
This is another Group 2 and it's for fillies and mares being raced over a little further than one mile and six furlongs.
The Saeed Bin Suroor trained Natural Scenery is the highest rated in the field and she has useful form over two miles so is sure to stay today's distance. She was third last time out in the Ebor at York and has been running consistently this year, therefore, it would be no surprise to see her make the frame at least.
Dubka was a good second place in a Group 3 at Goodwood on soft going over 14 furlongs where she was only just beaten, and she met plenty of trouble in running last time out in the Ebor. Ryan Moore is back on the Dubawi filly again today and I think she has an excellent chance of taking this.
