Bordeaux v Liverpool

The Europa League group stages kick off tonight and Liverpool travel to France to take on Bordeaux.

Liverpool started to the season off nicely with two wins and a draw at the Emirates before capitulating against West Ham, losing by three goals to nil and then losing again last weekend away to Utd, in what was a really poor showing.

They look like they will have quite a changed side here and I think that can work in their favour. Sahko will come into central defence where he should have been playing all season and Moreno will be at left back with Gomez switching across to right back. This will give them a more balanced feel and pace down both flanks. Coutinho returns after his suspension and this will be the first chance for both Ings and Origi to start together.

Bordeaux have had a pretty poor start to the season and sit in mid table with one win from five games. They did manage to hold champions PGS to a two all draw at the weekend but I'm not sure they are a particularly good side and I fancy Liverpool to come from the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux with a win. At best price 19/10 I think they are attractively priced as well.

Keith Dalgleish has a good looking runner here in Maleficent Queen. This will be only the fourth start of her career after winning two out of her three starts to date. She was a good winner last time out on her handicap debut in this class and I don't think the six pound rise will be enough to prevent her from going in again.

She has entries in the Cambridgeshire and the Champion Fillies & Mares so is obviously held in high regard at home and I think she will have too much class for this field. Being a three year old she gets a six pound allowance from her elders and that should be more than enough.

Lamyaa for Charlie Hills was second over ten furlongs on good to soft ground last time out but has been raised three pounds for that effort so it will take a big enough step forward to be winning this.

Our Time Will Come has won two of her four races to date and is still relatively unexposed. She is also getting plenty of weight from the favourite but I think she will need to progress an awful lot to be troubling Maleficent Queen here.
