Congratulations to Quiet Reflection who yesterday showed her class winning Burke his first 1st class race in the UK, what a star.

Today at 4.20,the final day of Royal Ascots festival see’s the Diamond Jubilee Stakes, the group one race being run over 6 furlongs. There are ten runners and riders, with Detorri up against Moore, another epic showdown. This year at Ascot has been a fantastic festival and I’m sure if you were there or followed it on TV you would agree, the racing has been great.

Twilight Son, the Henry Candy-trained horse, ridden by Ryan Moore will attempt to sparkle to win the prize of £340,000. Not heavily backed at the moment and third favourite with the bookies but the tipsters are backing him. The field, although the smallest for many years, is truly global with runners from the USA, Australia, Hong Kong and France. Last year’s winner is here to defend his title, Undrafted the American entry, trained by Wesley Ward, the trainer of Tepin who stormed home the other day, should not be written off. Although, the bookies are not backing him, today he has odds of 8/1 with William Hill. The second favourite is Magical Memory, who has odds of 7/2 with Bet365, he came 1st on his last two outings at York and Newmarket so it’s understandable that he’s up in the favourite’s given his form.

Twilight Son

Twilight Son is already a class 1 champion as a three-year-old, but Candy thinks he will do even better as a four-year-old, just like his winning sire Kyllachy, who stepped up his game in his fourth year. Running against Magical Memory again today, it should be noted that Twilight Son has already beaten him three times this season, can he make it a fourth today? I wouldn’t write him off.

Odds on Twilight Son are 4/1 today with Ladbrokes, not too bad a price. This is the Detorri/Moore battle today with Dettori riding Magical Memory and Moore riding Twilight Son.

Other horses on the card today are the favourite, The Tin Man trained by James Fanshawe and ridden by Tom Quealy, he’s another top runner winning four out of his last seven flat races. Odds for The Tin Man are 4/1 with Coral today.

Good Luck today and enjoy the last day of Royal Ascot.
