Premier League
The first match of the weekend is at Stamford Bridge and even at this early stage it is a massive game. Chelsea have only won one out of their first five games and sit one place above relegation at the moment. Arsenal lost their opening game at home to West Ham but have started to look better since then, although a bad loss to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Wednesday won't have helped their confidence.
This pretty much feels like a must win for Chelsea as if they don't they could find themselves 14 points behind leaders Man City by tonight and that would surely be too much to claw back even though only a handful of games have been played.
Chelsea looked a little better in midweek beating a poor Maccabi Tel Aviv side 4-0 and they are usually strong against Arsenal at home. They Still look poor at the back but I have a feeling they will pick up the win today and get their season back on track. If they get an early goal I can see them going on to win this match by two or three goals and I am backing them minus one on the handicap at 18/5.
Enhanced Odds: Man City Win to nil @ a massive 8/1
Ayr 15:45 William Hill Ayr Gold Cup
Richard Fahey's Don't Touch dominates the betting and it is not hard to see why as he has four wins from four races so far in his career. This three year old out of Dutch Art is progressing really nicely and I think has a great chance of making it five wins in a row here today. He likes to leave it late in his races and there should be a really strong pace for him to sit off today. If the gaps arrive at the right time I think he will be right there and the finish and it will take a good run from somebody else to stop him from remaining unbeaten.
Rugby World Cup
After a quite fantastic atmosphere at the opening ceremony in Twickenham last night England came through their tough opening game against Fiji and will look to hopefully build on that win by beating Wales next weekend.
There are some very one sided looking games today and I think both Ireland and South Africa have been put a little on the short side in the handicap market.
Ireland play Canada and are an even money shot to win by more than 42 points. Ireland are far stronger and I can see them easily scoring 60 plus points today.
South Africa play Japan and this equally a mismatch. We can back South Africa on the handicap minus 43 at evens so I will put these two selections together in a double that pays 3/1.
