15:25 Redcar

This is quite a nice looking handicap being run over a mile at Redcar, and it has a competitive look to it.

Kynren is a very lightly raced three-year-old who has had just the three starts to date. He has won two of those, however, including when making his handicap debut last time out in soft conditions at Newmarket. That was over seven furlongs but he was staying on strongly at the finish and prior to that he won over a mile on good to firm ground at Carlisle, so he appears versatile ground wise. He has been raised six pounds for his Newmarket win which may not be enough to stop him going in again as he looks a potentially smart horse for David Barron who has been in good form recently.

Poet's Beauty has been off the race track for over 400 days so it would be taking a bit of a chance gambling on his fitness. When last seen he won a similar class handicap at Nottingham over a mile and has form on the softer conditions. Both trainer and jockey have been among the winners over the past few weeks and trainer Ismail Mohammed has a particularly good record with runners that have been off the track for a period of time.

Omers, trained by Hugo Palmer, is another lightly raced three-year-old with just the four runs so far. He went straight into handicaps after winning a maiden at Chelmsford and although he hasn't won since he has run respectably in some useful races. Both of his runs on turf have been in slightly higher class handicaps that this and the small drop in class today together with being a pound lower in the weights should see him being competitive in this.

Finn Class won over a mile at Thirsk in soft conditions in May and has been a little inconsistent since then. He was well beaten at Thirsk last time out but prior to that he was second at Ayr in a 0-95 handicap, so the class is definitely there when things go right for this Exceed And Excel gelding. He has a decent draw in stall two and if can grab a nice position early on, then he could prove to be dangerous.

Today's selection
