Yesterday Aidan O’Brien had a great day when he got the top two places with Seventh Heaven and Found in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks. Out of his four running horses, he got three in the top four, with Pretty Perfect pulling into fourth spot and Even Song making it into seventh place, so a good day for O’Brien even without his top jockey Ryan Moore.
Today sees some more Ballydoyle horses out on the course with another great day’s racing to look forward to. Washington DC is running today in the 3.40 Coolmore Nunthorpe Classic Stakes, despite coming second in his last race and having an excellent record of twelve races, four wins, five seconds, he is nowhere in the top three or four favourites with the bookies this morning. That’s because of the other class horses that are running including, Henry Candy’s horse Limato who has got the better of Washington DC before at Newmarket last month.
Odds for Washington DC today are 22/1 with Bet365 and for Limato, the favourite this morning are 4/1 with Skybet.
Also, running and hotly tipped is Mecca’s Angel, trained by Michael Dods, this horse didn’t do so well when running at Royal Ascot but pulled things back with a win at The Curragh two days later, he has great form with seventeen races, nine wins and four second places, so you could say Royal Ascot was a blip, let’s hope so. Odds on Mecca’s Angel this morning are 9/2 with William Hill.
Third favourite this morning is Profitable by Clive Cox, another in-form horse with sixteen races under his belt, five first places and five second, so not too shabby at all. Only managed fourth place last time out at Newmarket but won three on the bounce before that hopefully, a little blip. Odds on Profitable today are 6/1 with Ladbrokes.
There are twenty runners in this race and its run over five furlongs with the going good to firm at the moment. That could all change with the band of rain that’s running over the country this morning, this is due to hit York at midday, so the going will definitely change which may suit other horses such as Washington DC, who should definitely not be ruled out of this race, given the form Ballydoyle is in at the moment.
Good Luck today
