Over 50 Points Profit So Far

We ended last week in fine style with our handicap bet on Chelsea coming in and then landing the winner of the Ayr Gold Cup at a juicy 8/1. Overall it puts us more than 53 points in profit since the blog began in July and currently well over my target of 10 points profit each month. There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in this week so let's hope we can continue this great run.

Capital One Cup

The Capital One Cup returns this week and it is the first round that the clubs in European competition this season will play in. As usual we can expect to see plenty of squad rotation from the bigger clubs as they look to rest players for the weekend, however some of the top clubs have really deep squads now with two players for each position so they shouldn't struggle against lower opposition.

Sunderland have endured a terrible start to the season and sit bottom of the league with two points from six games. They host Man City tonight and could be in for a really tough time. City will obviously rotate their side and it wouldn't be a surprise to see an almost entirely different starting eleven than the one that lost to West Ham at the weekend. They still have the likes of Bony to come in though and these players will be really trying to stake their claim to start at the weekend so will be fully up for this. I think there maybe a few goals in this one and am sure that City will win by at least two, therefore at best price 5/4 for minus one on the handicap I think they are a great value bet.

Warwick 16:10

Dursey Sound for Jonjo O'Neill has tumbled down the weights over the past year or so and although he hasn't been in the best of form, his current mark gives him an excellent opportunity to get back to winning ways here. On his previous start he was a well supported favourite but couldn't stay the pace of the front two and I am hoping this longer trip will be more to his liking. He is now 19 pounds lower than his highest mark last year so if he can reproduce anything like his better form his is really nicely weighted here.

He is racing against horses that either aren't in great form themselves or have shot up the weights to an unattractive mark so I think he can prove a really nice bit of value in an open looking race at best price 15/2.

Today's Selections

Sunderland v Man City - Man City minus 1 on the handicap - 3 points @ 5/4 (Bet365, Stan James)

Warwick 16:10 Dursey Sound - 1 point @ 15/2 (Betway)
