Everton are hoping to put Wednesday's thrashing by Liverpool firmly behind them as the bid to turn their season around by defeating Manchester United to reach the FA Cup Final for the 14th time.

Manchester United have also had a lacklustre season, and only a win against Everton and ultimately lifting the trophy would spare Louis van Gaal the sack I fear.

This is the third time these two have met in the semi finals, the last in 2009 saw the Toffees go through on penalties after a 0-0 draw at Wembley.

Everton have won all four of their FA Cup matches this season without conceding a single goal and although Manchester United have found it hard to hit the net at times I can see them scoring tomorrow to break Evertons duck.

So is this to prove third time lucky for United, having been knocked out at this stage in 2009 by Everton and 2011 by rivals Manchester City. Wembley isn't a lucky ground for United, having won only 4 of 14 appearances, not a great record. Everton however, have progressed in 6 of their last 7 semi final appearances.

This makes for a tricky prediction, but I think United will edge this one, but only just. United to win 1-0.

Sunday sees Crystal Palace face Watford in what seems more like a Championship play - off final than an FA Cup semi final. Watford hold the upper hand in this tie if history is to be believed, having lost only one of six encounters.

Both teams are heading in the wrong direction in the Premier League and a Cup Final does wonders to lift the spirits and beliefs. Palace I think will edge this tie, and I believe it might go all the way to extra time and penalties. I think it'll be honours even after 90 minutes and extra time, with Palace winners on penalties.
