This is quite a good looking Class 4 sprint over five furlongs with a few of these three year olds looking like they have the potential to go on and race in Listed races and perhaps beyond.

Mark Johnston runs Kingsley Klarion who has been running consistently as a good level without actually getting his head in front. He has finished mid division on his last couple of runs, however they were both over six furlongs and he definitely tired in the final furlong, therefore at this level I think they will keep him at five furlongs as long as the races can be found. With Joe Fanning on board I think they will try and make the running, or at least be right up there, and use the stamina built up from running over six furlongs to try and see the race out. This could set it up nicely for a quick finisher coming from off the pace.

Alkhor for Richard Hannon had just the two runs as a two year old and has not been seen since, so this is his first race for almost a year. He won his second race in very convincing fashion and any market confidence behind him would be significant. The ground for his maiden win was good to firm so my worry would be how he handles the softer conditions today.

Another lightly raced horse is My Amigo who has had just the four runs to date. It looks a slightly strange decision to run him over five furlongs as he has run over six or seven furlongs thus far and has actually been staying on over six furlongs. He will surely want to make this as much of a test of stamina as possible and go at it right from the off. It will be interesting to see if he has the speed to be able to stay with his main rivals though.

The one I like here is Udontdodou for Richard Guest. He has won his last two races over five furlongs very easily indeed and although he has to carry an extra six pounds here today because of that, I don't think that will be enough to stop him giving another very good account of himself. He has been staying on very nicely in both of his wins and showed a brilliant turn of foot. He has won on both soft and good ground so conditions today are sure to suit him and I am confident he will have too much for his rivals here.
