Although it wasn't a particularly easy day yesterday we managed to come away with three winners from the seven races at prices of 11/4, 11/1 and 14/1, therefore making it a very pleasing day. Fingers crossed luck stays on our side and we can find a winner or two today.

Dunraven Storm for the Hobbs and Johnson combination is a horse that could easily win this with a clear round of jumping, however, it is often really sketchy and no faith can be placed in him to complete a clean round of jumping.

Eastlake was an excellent second in the Ground Annual at Cheltenham on his penultimate start before pulling up in the Topham at Aintree over a distance which was much further than ideal for him. Two miles is the optimum trip for him and he excels around Cheltenham so I think he is a decent value bet to get us off to a nice start.

14:45 Masterson Holdings Hurdle

Hargam was third in the Triumph Hurdle before a poor performance when odds on at Aintree. Two miles on good ground is perfect for him and I think he will show that today and prove his class despite giving weight all round. I am hopeful of a Barry Geraghty double early on in the card.

15:20 winner.co.uk Trophy (Handicap Chase)

Silver Man has been in great form this year and on his penultimate start he was a good second place in the John Smith's Summer Cup which is a Listed race. Unlike some of his rivals he definitely stays the distance and I think he has a great chance of making the frame here today.

Mont Choisy for the Twiston-Davies team was a nice winner for us ten days ago and he is good enough to go in again here. He has been raised 12 pounds for that very easy win at Worcester but it was done in an extremely comfortable fashion and this distance doesn't pose any problems.

Miss Serious with Nick Schofield on board will definitely make a race of it and gets four pounds from the selection so I expect him to be fighting it out at the business end of proceedings.

16:30 Royal Gloucestershire Hussars Novices' Chase

Parlour Games last run was at Aintree where he was beaten by Nicholls Canyon and he was rated 148 over hurdles. As long as he takes to fences he is easily the best horse in this field and he gets weight from three of them.He stands out as the bet of the day for me as I expect him to sit off the pace as usual and just blow them away before the last and up the hill.

17:05 Download The winner.co.uk App Now Handicap Hurdle

An 18 runner handicap hurdle that is wide open. A speculative vote goes to Towering for Nicky Henderson who is at home with this kind of distance and any kind of good ground or better is perfect for him. He is still low enough in the handicap as a six year old with plenty of improvement to come so has a decent chance of being involved today.

17:40 Cheltenham Club Standard OpenNH Flat Race

Fountains Windfall for Anthony Honeyball won his bumper with consummate ease and although this is obviously a massive step up in class he could be anything. High Bridge for John Ferguson is the clear favourite but I think the selection has the potential to show him a clean pair of heels before going on to much better things.
