Today at Newmarket the Betfred Cambridgeshire Heritage Handicap runs at 4.10, with Third Time Lucky placed as today's favourite. Trained by Richard Fahey and on his last time out he only placed fifth and has been a little inconsistent with five wins from fourteen races, Fahey will be hoping he manages to get off to an easy start and the ground conditions suit. Odds today for Third Time Lucky are 10/1 with Bet365.
Second favourite with the bookies is Luca Cumani’s Banksea, out of his last nine races he’s won twice and been placed four times, coming second on his last outing at York in August. It may be he’s having trouble finding his length, hopefully, today he can find it. Odds on Banksea today are 12/1 with Ladbrokes.
Racing as the third favourite is Very Talented, this Syed Bin Suroor-trained horse is not as experienced as the first two, but that doesn’t mean that much if you have an in-form horse. On his last time out he was placed third, but out of five races he has won one, come second in one and third in three, so not too shabby. Odds on Very Talented today are 14/1 with Paddy Power.
Ones to watch out for are GM Hopkins, despite carrying a bit of extra weight. This John Gosden-trained horse is ridden by Ryan Moore today, but out of a field of thirty-five runners he has just as much of a chance as any other horse, with such an experienced Jockey and he’s an experienced horse. Odds on GM Hopkins this morning are 25/1 with Bet365.
Other horses to watch are the ones where the prices are dropping quickly, such as Treasury Notes, odds now respectively at 12/1 with Ladbrokes, Knight Owl, with odds of 16/1 with Skybet and Celestial Path with odds of 28/1 with BetVictor.
There is plenty of other racing around today with meetings at Chester, Hamilton, Haydock, Market Rasen and Ripon. As well as Navan in Ireland, Caulfield and Rosehill in Australia and Parx in the USA, this looks set to be another great weekend of racing.
Good Luck today.
