19:10 Newton Abbot

The summer jumps continue at Newton Abbot this evening and as always, they have a decent enough looking card. This is an open looking handicap hurdle over two miles and two furlongs and is one of the better races on the card being a Class 3.

Beau Phil has been running consistently without getting his head in front. His rating of 113 doesn't appear to be too restrictive and he has Harry Cobden on board taking five pounds off, therefore this is probably as good a chance as he is going to get to break his duck.

Pinkie Brown for Neil Mulholland is just a four year old so receives a five pound weight allowance all round and this could prove to be extremely beneficial. He is one of the higher rated horses in the line up anyway and has finished a respectable fifth place in his previous two races against quality fields. Prior to that he won in heavy conditions at Wetherby and the step up in trip looks sure to suit.

Unison has had just the four runs since switching from the flat and he has taken to hurdles really well with two wins from those four races. He has been raised six pounds for his latest win over two miles at Ludlow but looks to have room for plenty more improvement and the way he was staying on at the finish suggests the extra two furlongs shouldn't be a problem.
