cap one

Capital One Cup

The second semi final second leg takes place tonight with Man City hosting Everton in the battle to find out who will play Liverpool at Wembley, after they came through on penalties against Stoke last night.

Everton lead City by two goals to one after the first leg so I expect City to come out of the blocks at a ferocious pace and try and get at Everton early on. Everton have been conceding a lot of goals recently and I am certain that City will create plenty of chances at the Etihad tonight. Sergio Aguero has been back from injury for a while now and looks fully up to speed so I expect him to cause the misfiring Everton defence all sorts of problems.

City are clear favourites and are a short price to win, however we can obtain odds of 13/10 of them to win on the handicap with a minus one start and I think this is good value. They have to win by two goals to progress so will continue to pour forwards even if they do go one up, and I think if they do get a lead in the first half, they could win a by a big margin.

Poulanassy for Evan Williams is chasing a hat trick today and looks to have found a great chance to do so. He won in a tight battle with a hotly fancied Philip Hobbs horse last time out over course and distance and a mark of 118 for his handicap debut definitely appears to be on the lenient side. I think Adam Wedge will ride him the same way and try to make, and there doesn't appear to be anything in the race that will take him on so he may get an easy time of it early on which will hopefully set the race up perfectly for him.

Today's Selections

Man City v Everton - City minus one - 3 points @ 13/10 (Paddy Power, Stan James)

Catterick 14:25 - Poulanassy - 2 points @ 13/8 (Totesport, Betfred)

  1. I wouldn’t count my chicks before they hatch. I fancy Everton to fire on all cylinders tonight. They have nothing to lose. Its their only chance to grab a silverware plus don’t forget the one goal advantage.

Good luck and let’s see who comes out on tops.
