England v Iceland
England come into the knockout stages of the tournament on the back of three unconvincing results, where the performances have been better than the end scores have suggested. They have dominated all three matches so far but have lacked the cutting edge to be able to put teams away. I think today's game could go the same way with Iceland sitting deep and hoping to hit England on the counter attack. They are also very useful from set pieces so will look to use that advantage at every opportunity.
England made six changes for their final group match against Slovakia, therefore I expect of lot of the players that were rested/dropped to come back in today. I would like to see a front six of Dier, Rooney, Alli, Lallana, Sturridge and Kane as I think that would give England the best chance of goals. It will be very interesting to see how Roy decides to go.
A few of the bigger nations in this tournament have started to hit some form now the knockout stages have begun, and I have a feeling England will do the same here today and win by a comfortable two or three goals. This will depend on them scoring early enough, and definitely in the first half. If they do this then Iceland will have to come out and attack which should leave plenty of space for England to exploit.
