Epsom 15:10
This is a nice looking handicap for those rated 0-90 being run over six furlongs. There are just the seven runners going to post but it's a competitive looking race.
Coronation Day is at the top of the handicap with a mark of 89, and she was a very easy winner last time out at Brighton. She has been hit with a seven-pound rise in the weights and this is definitely a stronger race, so she will need to have taken another step forward to remain competitive in this. She was in full command in that race at Brighton and looks in really good heart at the moment, so if she runs to a similar level again, the extra weight may not be enough to stop her going in again.
Poet's Society is one of a couple of three-year-olds in the race and he has been running in a lot stronger races than this one over the summer. He has slipped down the handicap of few pounds and with him taking a drop in class, he will surely be one to beat. He does have a better record on the all weather tracks than on turf, however, he looks a useful sort and is a horse I really like the look of. Jockey Joe Fanning has been in decent form over the past month with 19 winners (20.88%) from 91 runners, producing a level stakes profit of 63.51.
Richard Fahey runs Scofflaw in this and he has been running consistently without being able to get his head in front. He is another who has dropped a few pounds in the handicap over the past few races and he's the other runner in the race who will receive the weight allowance due to being a three-year-old. I think he had a little bit to find with a couple of these and it would be a surprise if he was good enough to take this race.
