Qipco 2,000 Guineas
The first classic of the flat season takes place at Newmarket today and we have a massive favourite from the Ballydoyle yard.
Air Force Blue won four of his five starts as a two year old with his only reverse being on good to firm ground over six furlongs. It has been mooted amongst the O'Brien's that because of his superb speed that he may struggle to see out the mile here at Newmarket, however the market disagrees and has him as a strong odds on favourite.
Both races he has contested over seven furlongs he has seen the distance out in an impressive manner and I can't see him having any problems with the mile, in fact I think he will thrive on the extra distance. However, his one defeat did come in the only race that contained a decent sized field and although we're down to 13 runners now I still think if has the possibility of causing him problems.
Stormy Antarctic for Ed Walker looks like he has it in him to make a decent race of it as he powered past Foundation to win the Craven Stakes and give a proper beating to the heavily odds on shot. He showed a tremendous turn of foot that day and if there ws any further rain to fall then I'm sure connections would be happy with that.
Buratino beat Air Force Blue in the Coventry Stakes and stayed on strongly in doing so. His previous run was last year in the Juddmonte were he was narrowly beaten by the heavily odds on Shalaa. The speed he has shown thus far strongly suggests the sprint trips are right up his street and I will be really surprised if he has the stamina to stay a mile.
Premer League
I still find it incredible to say but if Leicester can take the there points at Utd on Sunday. They are without Jamie Vardy who has been banned for another game following his dissent after the red card against West Ham, but I think they will still have enough to beat a poor Utd team and lift the Premier League trophy at Old Trafford.
They are amazingly best priced 3/1 to get the win and I think there is massive value in that price and am more than willing to have a piece of that.
