Tomorrow we see the QIPCO 1000 Guineas at Newmarket. The class 1 race over a mile with the going Good to soft today (Good in places), running at 3.40 with sixteen runners and riders.

Frankie Dettori is racing on number 13 Nathrie, currently he has won this race three times and he will be trying to level up with Kieron Fallon with his four race win record. Trained by John Gosden, today on BET365 you can get odds of 10/1 and currently it in the top four favourites, but with Dettori riding it you can pretty much guarantee that those odds will shorten by tomorrow. That being said, Nathra has met Minding before in the Fillies Mile which Minding won conclusively, although she did do better next time out under Dettori and landed the Group Three Lanwades Stud Nell Gwyn Stakes at Newmarket in a stylish fashion.

Minding by Aidan O’Brien is the favourite, with odds of 5/4 with most bookmakers but SP with Boylesports. Ridden by Ryan Moore and closely followed by Lumiere and Ballydoyle. Both of these are 6/1 with Paddy Power.

The Mark Johnston trained Lumiere is a fast horse and some tipsters cast doubts on her being able to stay the full mile and win, but her trainer is confident she can “There is no doubt in my mind that she will stay the trip”. He said in a recent interview.

Minding and Ballydoyle are both Aidan O’Brien trained and although he has a good success rate in the 2000 Guineas, his record is not so good in the 1000 Guineas that said both horses are fancied to do well in this race. He will be looking to cement his reputation in this race as well as the 2000 Guineas.

The weather will play an important role tomorrow, with Richard Hannon warning he may pull Illuminate from the race if conditions don’t suit her. There was rain earlier and the conditions were changed from good, to soft to good with good in places. If there is more rain, the conditions would really suit Jet Setting the Adrian Keatley trained horse. Whose victories at Cork and Leopardstown were both achieved in mud. So keep an eye on the weather overnight before you place your bets. Jet Setting is currently 20/1 with Skybet, if there’s more rain it may be worth an each way at that price. Good luck.
