Champions League

The other semi final second leg takes place at the Bernabeu tonight in a match that could easily go either way after the nil nil draw in the first leg.

I feel certain there will be goals in this as both teams have been unable to defend with any particular consistency this season and both have extremely dangerous forward lines. City also know that after the goalless first leg a score draw tonight will be good enough for them to progress to the final for the first time in their history. Making it to the final would be a fitting end to Manuel Pellegrini's reign and would set things up perfectly for his successor, Pep Guardiola.

I am sure that Madrid will come out of the blocks in explosive fashion and get the crowd right behind them. City will have to work extremely hard to get their share of possession and to restrict Madrid to long range efforts, as if they get in behind the City defence they will cause all kinds of problems.

Even if City do go behind early on they need to remain calm and composed as they definitely have the attacking flair to be able to create plenty of chances against this Madrid defence. The return of Kevin De Bruyne these past few weeks has given their attacking play an extra dimension and City will want to get him and David Silva on the ball as much as possible in the hope that they are able to create chances for either themselves, or the deadly Sergio Ageuro.

We can get a shade of odds on for 'both teams to score' and I think this has an excellent chance of coming in. I also feel that City are overpriced in the 'to qualify' market so will be adding that to the selections.

14:40 Chester

The three day Chester meeting begins today and we have some nice racing to look forward to.

In this one and a half miles fillies Listed stakes the O'Brien trained Somehow will be a warm order today. With Ryan Moore on board she looks sure to go off an odds on shot. However, I think there is value elsewhere and I like the chances of Diamonds Pour Moi. She has had just the one race so far, where she won at Kempton over a mile. She was staying on nicely at the finish that day and it appears the step up to 1 mile 4 will really suit. As long as the eight runners in this race stand their ground, she is a fantastic ech way bet.
