Champions League

The only English team left in this year's Champions League are Man City and they travel to France to play PSG in what is sure to be an extremely difficult tie.

City are in the race for the title in England this season due to some very inconsistent form and an unusually leaky defence. A lot of this has been put down to the absence for a long period of time of Vincent Kompany, however even with him in the team they have looked shaky. That defence will need to be right at the top of their game to be able to cope with Zlatan and co in Paris.

PSG do though have a certain amount of vulnerability at the back and with Kevin De Bruyne having recently returned to fitness, City have plenty of attacking options that are able to hurt the French champions. Chelsea look a particularly poor team this season but they were able to score in either leg and for City to have a chance of progressing to the semi final, I feel they will need at least one goal tonight.

The lack of competitive action that PSG get domestically will mean they should be pretty fresh for this encounter, however it can definitely have a detrimental effect when most weeks you are not seriously tested and coast to an easy victory. They are 25 points clear of second placed Monaco and wrapped up yet another title a while ago now. This shows they are the class team in that league but I am confident that City can cause them problems and think they are overpriced to take a win back to the Etihad. At best price 9/2 they are worth a small stakes selection.

The other tie tonight comes from Germany where Wolfsburg host Real Madrid. Wolfsburg are having a poor season and currently sit in eighth place in the Bundesliga. Although Madrid haven't been in sparkling form they will be buoyed by their excellent win against arch rivals Barcelona at the weekend and they should have far too much for an average Wolfsburg team. If they get an early goal I can see them winning this comfortably and will be backing them on the handicap at minus one.
