Ludlow 15:15
National Hunt racing will come to the fore now and there is a pretty good card at Ludlow today. This is a Class 3 chase over three miles and one furlong and it has attracted a good field.
Azure Fly for Charlie Longsdon has come down the weights a little but was considered good enough to compete in a handicap chase at Cheltenham in March. Most of his good form has been on softer ground than today however and I think the conditions will be against him here.
Rio Milan is another who would prefer it much softer and I am a little surprised he is this short in the betting. He did win last time out in this grade but that was over a mile and a half and he was pulled up the last time he tried three miles, therefore others are definitely preferred.
Lemony Bay has been in good form of late in lower class races but he has shot up the weights and he has never won from a mark this high.
Sybarite is rated five pounds higher over hurdles so if his jumping has improved he may be one to get involved at the business end of a nice price.
The one I like here however is Dreamsoftheatre for Jonjo O'Neill and ridden by Barry Geraghty. He is chasing a hat trick of wins and won a better race than this last time out at Cartmel. He is only one pound higher here so has a great chance of going in again if producing a similar performance. He has form on today's going and I think he will prove very hard to beat.
Ludlow 16:25
Hepijeu is just four years old but looks a potentially high class chaser based on his demolition of the field last time out at Stratford. Although his marches gone up nine pounds for that convincing fourteen length victory, he gets the four year old allowance so still looks well in here and it would be a surprise if he didn't go in again today as he's open to any amount of improvement.
