Jason why pay dean £40 a month when you give the speedratings for free, are his tips better than yours..? If not my question answered from previous posts… And no i am not bitter just dont like being taken for a ride..if your tips are free how do you make money..cant be doing it for fun..! Sorry but something odd to me.
Peter, Dean did give his tips for free on here for about 2 months. Dean puts a lot of time into his ratings so its only fair he gets something back. Would you work for nothing? We may introduce a free trial after Christmas which may interest you

Why can’t deans tips put out for free after all your not making a great deal of money out off them at the end of the month or at least charge £20 Wich is a bit more fair
I’ve not really had a chance to sit down and have a proper look at these ratings, but they do seem to be producing decent winners.
Some readers say they are unlucky because they’re choosing the ones that lose, but I’m sure there’s a way these ratings can be used in a successful and profitable way.
Maybe each day just concentrate on one race course?
Maybe only bet on a selection if the jockey has good form at the particular course? – maybe use this idea in conjunction with a price? say if it’s priced at 10.0 or under and the jockey does well at the race course, then it’s a bet?
Just thought I’d throw some ideas out there.

people steve put speed rating on for free ,up to you how you use them and if you want to use them ,if so many bets then try leaving out maiden’s amateur races so on .might be worth looking at the two top rated horses and pick the best price out of the two in that race see how that goes will also cut down on bets ,just a thought ,but this site and the people who run this free site i take my hat off to you ,

I will not be using the speed ratings for trading anymore as I have come across the perfect way to get a good trade %99 of the time
Dont get me wrong Jay does a great job with them but there just not what Im after
Everything is the same apart from the selection process
I have been using the top 3 RPR Runners and selecting the horse who has the most inform jockey on his back (You can find this on the RP website with the tab called ‘Stastistics’
I have been doing this along with the speed ratings selections and find this way is creating more profit
I know most of you are probably just getting used to this,and now Ive changed it slightly..Sorry lol
But I am here to make profits,and want to create a near bulletproof way of doing it

Exactly that Marc,You can lay the selection for the same price as you have backed but then you are just creating a free bet and your selection MUST WIN To profit, where as I hedge and split it over the field (hope that makes sense mate lol)
I only use Bettrader myself as its what i used when i was being trained,4yrs later its finally paying off,But Im must confess Im a Trading Nut…I love it!!
I did try BetAngel but found it confusing probably because Im just used to the Bettrader software

I have a free trial of Fairbot at the moment and I think these are quite similar.

i found a free software called formcracker it is a predictor that you can analyse the race put in your own or import from ladbrokes site with either ie 8 or ie (it will only work with these. yo have to copy and paste then import the meeting ,you can add or remove data

I agree with ian…the speed ratings are good but I haven’t got the money to be backing all of them win and place.
It is pot luck to be honest trying to pick them in the right bets…tried myself yesterday and out of the 12 i picked out had 6 winners and 2 placed but alas 2 winners in each of the bets…(twat).

I use Bettrader evo software and it calculates the lay bet for me and i just hedge the bet locking in a profit no matter who wins.

also get a virtual bank……..You can practice away until you feel ready

Sounds like you have a good system going, anymore snippets / tips / help will be gratefully received and thank you very much.
ray how much are you putting on the bets and layes to get that much profit. ? loosing money hand over fist trying all sorts of different bet, all without any luck.

First off i strongly suggest you download Bettrader Evo,There is a training mode on there and it done me wonders
Back the first mentioned horse in the speed ratings
Back it 2minutes before the off
As soon as the race jumps put a lay bet in minus 2 what you have backed it for
For Example 4.9…..2.9 & 8.3…..6.3 if you back below 4.0 we use a 1.5 lay bet
And thats pretty much it mate
But Bettrader Evo will give you a feel for the market and in traing mode you have a virtual bank so you can practice away
Na it OK Chris thats what this site is all about… helping eachother out.
I strongly suggest downloading
‘bettrader evo’ if you serious about this tho
Make a note of all the first horses mentioned in the speed ratings
(which Jason kindly does for us)
Back them 2 minutes before the off
as soon as the race starts put a lay bet in minus 2 of what you backed it for ie
6.0=4.0
4.4=2.4
10.1=8.1 and so on..anything below 4.0 we put a lay bet in at 1.5…hope your still with me mate
I suggest you download the bettrader evo as they have a training mode on there and you can practice away with an virtual bank
Once you have done it a for a few days it will become easier

When I first started trading in 2008 i was pulling my hair out it just comes with time mate,theres no quick fix here..The guy that trained me said dont expect to be a trader within a few months and he was bloody right
I actually went on a couple of Betfair courses up London but the only way to get the experience is you have got to get into the markets and learn that way….As mentioned bettrader evo do a training mode so you dont have to risk anything
Remember Practice Practice Practice Ive been doing it for 4yrs now & Im still learning mate

I still feel a bit daunted about the whole thing even when it all makes perfect sense in my head and has done for years!!!( slow and steady each day is good with me because i have the time and think others may not.
Just a shy guy i think. You obviously started out with this at one point and i would love to know how you got on at first? This is a very fast thing to do and hard when ( your band width is a bit slow ) you have to flick between screens and get results. What do you use to do all the win/lay Trades ( please remember i am a ought for nought man and will remain that way. Hope you will tell us please.

Just installed bettrader today Ray and it is much easier and you dont need to stake the minimum betfair standard £2. Do u use the free version? Just backed Hoover in the 3.40 in running at 18/1, s/p was 7/2. happy days! Keep up the great service Jason, really appreciate it.

The AW Tracks are over too quickly its just a personal thing with me.
As for the odds I will back the selection if its at least 2.5 but lay it @ 1.5 when its upto 4.0 then I use the minus 2 theory, and Im Using £50 Level Stakes/Trades….
Also Rob if the selection runs poorly We have just got to take it on the chin mate,but overall I feel using this strategy weve got a better chance of making a profit

Ray, been thinking about this a bit more, why not use Aw? Also, is there odds under which you do not operate, i.e. under 4.0 to ensure the lay has a good chance to be taken? Obviously you have to think on your feet and be quick with this system, to get the numbers right, i guess you can work it so that you win either way if horse wins/loses, or you recover your bet with the lay, which method do you think works best?
Are there any other pitfalls that i am missing? Thanks for any help you can give.
Hi Ray, have been looking at this myself, can you give your pts for back and lay in your examples please, looks very good and is maybe a good strategy, except if the horse starts and runs pooly then your lay may not be taken, yeh???
Hey Paul mate, laying is when you bet against an outcome in an event. so Ray is backing them at a bigger price and betting against (laying) at a smaller price to make sure he gets a profit no matter what. The reason he avoids the a/w meetings is probably because the races are over so quickly, odds change so fast on the a/w exchange betting. Its a good way to use the speed ratings if you have the time but most of us don’t. Hope that helped explain it Paul.
Ray its hard enough trying to pick and group the winners out of the selections, lay whats that all about don’t understand that at all sorry but just about getting away with betting at the min… The speed ratings might be getting some good results but its no good if you don’t put the winners in the right bets….as for not backing in the AW tracks 5 races yesterday where at AW which produced 3 winners and 1 placed horse.
I have tried Ray’s method, but laying them at one minute before the off. You get a better back price about 15mins before the off to lay against. It’s a bit of a cliff hanger though waiting to lay in running but it seems to work better. Takes a dedicated odds watcher.

I will keep monitoring them I think the system is good its just depends whether the horse runs to its form or not which cannot be predicted. Jason has established a rating which is correct for every horse but all different factors alter what happens on the day. At the end of the day it’s luck that makes the difference

like i said its just the way i pick em and it is working so far
lord tomnoddy had both a rating of 121 and a better prediction to emperors choice who didn’t have a rating and was 4th on the rpp.
Golden desert had a lower rating butr was on the rpp as 4th and to be honest i checked both horses out and thought golden desert had a better chance that hawk moth.
Its your choice in the end which of the 2 if any you fancy..just a guide that is working for me.
Love the speed ratings long may they last as never had so many winners lately.

I dont get how you pick the horses. In that list Golden desert is 81 and Lord tomoddy is 83 so it should be the second one and not the first that would make your filter right? and also many of the ones in your list are not first on the predictor so I am a little confused as how you filter the horses.

Am then confused as to why you check against the predictor? I was of the impression from your earlier post that the selection had to finish first in the predictor? Is that not the case or is it that it has to also finish ahead of the 2nd selection and therefore be 1.) best price ; 2.) highest rating and 3. ) finish ahead in the predictor ?
well my system worked again but only a small profit today £90 but will keep on trying with it as seems to be the way forward…ones I backed below

I thought the predictor was on the racingpost website and the thing is that it is on the paddypower website 🙂 Ok mate I get it now. Do you have the list for today so I can see if I get the same stuff?
I just go onto paddy power and when you look at a race there is a button above the list of horses it says race predictor. you just puss that and it gives you the poss outcome.

How do you run your racing post predictor and what is that exactly. I went to the Racing post website and I do find the RPR but I cannot find this predictor you mention. Is this a paid section or is it the Betting forecast section or what exactly? Please point me to the right place since I want to try and apply your findings to the list and see how it does.

hi this is what I have started to do with the speed selections it seems to be working as had 8 picks yesterday out of the 20 1st 5 winners which got my a lucky 31 up and a accum. just short of 400 smackers…cheers

1st of all I get all the prices for each horse off paddy power and put them down then I take the racing post ratings as you can see the winner above was 157, then I run the racing post predictor and as you will see agian the winner was 1st in the predictor.
so just do this for each pairing and pick the 1 with the best rating and price.
just thought I would share that with you.
i usually bet lucky 15’s with a acc but as there was only 10 pairings yesterday put 2 lucky31’s on instead.

New to this site so hello all.Just wondering if the speed ratings are going to be a definate permanent fixture to the site.
Had a look at previous results and i believe there is a system or two that can be made to work with the ratings. I am an avid systems compiler and am always looking for new angles to beat the bookies.
Reverse forecast produce a good profit on here but you have to put some effort in and pick the right two!

New to the site.Very impressed up to date but not with the moaners.
Have found that if you exclude selections with a Daily Mail rating of 70 or less you enhance your profitabilty considerably

I’ve been following Howard’s advice from November 1st in doing a Dutch bet on the two speed ratings. I’m considering trying my hand at the Lucky 15s too.

The best way to use these ratings is to decide what you want to win & then do a Dutch bet,
If the bet loses then do the same the next bet but add the amount you lost on the last bet to the amount you want to win. The frequency of winners means you will never decimate your bank.
I recommend looking to win 10% of your bank each day then stop.
