That was an excellent comeback from the Magpies, who showed real grit and determination to come from 2-0 down to snatch a point.

They are on a poor run of form as it stands, with five games without a win that includes four defeats, the polar opposite of Chelsea.

Newcastle are in 12th place in the Premier League as it stands, with a win here taking them to 18 points from 15 games.

The Magpies are well on course to achieve their primary goal - Premier League survival.
