Newcastle face West Ham at St. James Park on Saturday afternoon, in the third round of Premier League games.

The Magpies come into this match in poor form, losing their last game against Nottingham Forest 3-2.

This is proving to be a tough season for Rafa Benitez, with the club yet to win a game this season.

They have struggled in both of their Premier League matches against Tottenham and Huddersfield.

There has been plenty of unrest about the money available to Rafa Benitez, it appears that negativity isn't helping the Magpies.

This latest defeat is another blow for Newcastle, they will need to register a win as soon as possible to arrest the rot.

Newcastle come into this match as favourites, despite their poor start home advantage appears to have persuaded the bookies.

Rafa Benitez will be looking to end Newcastle's appalling start to the season with a home win.

The Magpies will be looking to make it three wins in five matches against West Ham.

West Ham come into this match on the back of a 2-0 win against Cheltenham, a much needed result for Slaven Bilic's side.

Diafra Sakho (40) opened the scoring for West Ham, giving the Hammers the lead before half time.

Andre Ayew (43) doubled the Irons advantage, with their second coming just three minutes later.

That was an excellent win for the Hammers, especially given their tough start to this new season.

 

Success Needed

West Ham had a poor campaign last season, with Bilic's side drastically underperforming in all competitions.

They have spent money, bringing in the likes of Javier Hernandez, Marko Arnuatovic and Joe Hart to the club.

With the deadline for the transfer window looming they have also been linked with a move for William Carvalho.

Depending on the outcome of this match they could be in for a few more players, their defence could be an area to strengthen.

 

Hammers Underdogs

Slaven Bilic's side come into this match as underdogs, despite having a better run of performances than Newcastle.

West Ham will be hoping it is third time lucky in the Premier League, they will be looking to build on their midweek win.
