Watford face Stoke at Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon, with Stoke in desperate need of a win.

The Hornets come into this match in good form, despite losing their last match 4-2 against Chelsea.

Michy Batshuayi proved to be the catalyst for the Blues, with his header levelling for Chelsea (71).

Cezar Azpilicueta nodded the ball past Gomez using his shoulder to make it 3-2 (87), before Batshuayi returned to make it 4-2 to Chelsea.

 

Impressive Silva

The Hornets have had a great start to the season, despite losing against Chelsea it was an excellent performance from Silva's side.

It is only their second defeat in their last six, losing to City and Chelsea, the ten goals conceded will concern Silva though.

They find themselves in sixth place on 15 points, an incredible start to the season for a side that finished 17th last season.

They face a tough assignment in Stoke, despite the Potters struggling of late.

Watford come into this match as the favourites, with home advantage informing the bookies.

Watford will be looking to avoid four successive defeats against Stoke, with Mark Hughes enjoying an excellent record against the Hornets.

Warning Signs

Mark Hughes' side come into this match in poor form, after losing at home against struggling Bournemouth 2-1.

Andrew Surman (16) proved to be the unlikely source for the Cherries first goal, giving Eddie Howe's side a deserved lead.

Junior Stanislas doubled Bournemouth's advantage from the penalty spot (18), after Shawcross fouled Benik Afobe.

Stoke set up a tense finish when Mame Biram Diouf bundled home with half an hour to spare (63), but Bournemouth held on to secure a much-needed win.

That was a poor result for Stoke, who now head into this difficult match in something of a crisis.

They come into this match in with a record of five defeats in their last six matches in all competitions.

Their only win came in the 2-1 victory against the Saints, they have been defeated by Man City, Chelsea, Bristol City, Bournemouth and Newcastle.

Hughes' side are in 17th place in the Premier League, with eight points from their opening nine matches.

Stoke come into this match as underdogs, with Silva's men in a great run of form coming into this tie.

Hughes will be looking to win this fixture, with a win taking the pressure off himself and his side.
