Huddersfield come into this league on the back of a highly successful Championship campaign, winning promotion through the play offs.
Having operated on the lowest budget in the Championship it is safe to say this is one of the true underdog tales.
They were one of the favourites to be relegated from the Championship last season, so to go full circle is an incredible achievement.
This season will be a huge challenge for Huddersfield, but under Wagner, they appear to have found another level.
The main aim for Huddersfield will be Premier League survival, with clubs such as Middlesbrough and Hull failing to adapt to life in the top flight.
Premier League
Huddersfield's opening fixture of this brand new Premier League campaign is against Crystal Palace on Saturday 12th August, at Selhurst Park.
Their next four fixtures are:
Newcastle (H) 20th August
Southampton (H) 26th August
West Ham (A) 11th September
Leicester (H) 16th September
This will be a difficult set of opening fixtures for the Terriers, with an opening fixture against de Boer's Crystal Palace a tough assignment.
David Wagner's side will be confident of securing points in all of those fixtures though, with no fixtures against the top seven early on.
They finished fifth in the Championship last season, beating Reading on penalties in the play off final to secure promotion.
Huddersfield registered 25 wins during their last campaign ending the season with 81 points, which was 12 points less than title second placed Brighton.
This season was an improvement on the 2015/16 campaign, where they won 13 matches and registered 51 points, finished in 19th place.
That finish shows exactly why their promotion to the Championship is a massive achievement, the Championship equivalent to Leicester's title winning season.
Cup Football
As well as consolidating their position in the Premier League, Huddersfield should be looking for a successful cup run as well.
They lost out to Shrewsbury Town in last years EFL Cup, losing 2-1 in the first round.
Huddersfield enjoyed a far more successful FA Cup run, ultimately losing out to Manchester City after forcing the replay.
This is easily an area for improvement, but they will be concentrating on consolidating their Premier League position.
Transfer Activity
Huddersfield will need to add some quality to their existing squad if they are to survive in the Premier League.
They have already completed several signings, but none of them have Premier League experience.
Laurent Depoitre has been signed from Porto, a signing that proves the clubs ambition.
Tom Ince is also a player with huge potential who will be keen to showcase his talent in the Premier League.
Transfers In: Laurent Depoitre (FC Porto), Tom Ince (Derby County), Mathias Jorgensen (FC Copenhagen), Scott Malone (Fulham), Steve Mounie (Montpellier) and Daniel Williams (Reading).
Transfers Out: Florent Bojaj (Unassigned) and Kyle Dempsey (Fleetwood Town).
One To Watch
Tom Ince is the one to watch for Huddersfield this season.
The son of former Liverpool and Manchester United player Paul, the winger is a talented prospect but this season will be crucial for him.
His arrival is a sign that Huddersfield are putting their money into building a young and talented squad that will develop.
They will need to sign experienced and quality Premier League players if they are to stay in the league.
