Burnley's Final Premier League Position: 16th
This Premier League Review sees Burnley's season assessed, with the Clarets securing their Premier League status.
Sean Dyche's side came into the season as one of three promoted sides, along with Middlesbrough and Hull City, they were the only side to survive.
They have benefited from having a stable managerial setup, with both Hull and Middlesbrough changing managers at some stage of the season.
Dyche has done an incredible job at the club, with a small budget and a specialist playing style, to stay in the league is an incredible achievement.
Ultimately the season has been highly successful, they have stayed in the league at a canter, surviving with a margin of six points and two positions.
Tough Start
Burnley endured a tough start to the season, losing their opening match of the season 1-0 against Swansea.
They followed that up with an excellent 2-0 win against Liverpool, with their home record proving to be their main strength this season.
Their away form was the complete opposite, their first away win didn't come until their penultimate away game, when they beat high-flying Palace 2-0.
They lost 20 matches in total, that was the fourth highest in the league, overall their defence was really poor.
All of the sides around them will be looking to strengthen during the summer, it is vital that the Clarets do the same.
Burnley registered 11 wins during the course of the season, 10 of them coming at Turf Moor.
They finished 53 points behind Antonio Conte's side, an enormous gulf in class between the sides at the top and bottom of the league.
Cup Failures
Burnley have had a poor run in the cups this season, losing to Accrington Stanley in the early stages of the EFL Cup.
They exited the FA Cup at the third time of asking, losing 1-0 at home against Lincoln City.
Premier League survival has been their top priority, but their performances in the cup have been far better than some of their Premier League rivals.

Sam Vokes ended as the club's top Premier League scorer, with the Welsh International scoring 10 goals and winning the most aerial battles (212).
Belgian Steven Defour had the most assists (3), level with Andre Gray and Sam Vokes.
Andre Gray had an outstanding season coming runner-up in goals scored (9) and assists (3).
Ben Mee had the most passes (1146) and the most clearances (300).
Matthew Lowton had the most tackles (101) and Steven Ward the most interceptions (74).
Their final points tally was 40, that was 6 points clear of the relegation zone and enough to secure Premier League survival.
Overall it's another excellent season for the Clarets, with a promotion and survival campaign in successive seasons.
Transfer Speculation
Sean Dyche will have a huge job on to continue Burnley's excellent progression, with the resources severely strained.
The main issue for Burnley will be replacing their more talented departures.
They have yet to sign anyone but are all but resigned to losing Michael Keane to Everton, although there will be significant money available to buy a replacement.
Their biggest issue will be holding onto their key players, and also finding players who are willing to buy into the culture in place at the club.
