Hull's Final Premier League Position: 18th
This Premier League Review sees Hull's season assessed, with the Tigers losing their Premier League status.
The Tigers had an appalling start with Steve Bruce leaving the club despite securing their promotion.
This was a chaotic start for the Tigers but Mike Phelan came in as an interim option but was later unveiled as Bruce's permanent successor.
Unfortunately for Phelan despite an excellent start he was relieved of his duties midway through the season, to be replaced by the relatively unknown Marco Silva.
Ultimately the season has been hugely disappointing, they narrowly failed to stay in the league and there will now be a mass exodus of players from the club.
Tough Start
Hull had an excellent start to the season, winning three matches and narrowly losing against Manchester United.
They followed that up with eight successive Premier League defeats, until they beat Southampton 2-1 in November.
That was the last time they won in 2016, with their next win coming on the 14th January, a 3-1 win against Bournemouth.
They lost 22 matches in total, that was the second highest in the league, overall their defence was really poor.
Hull registered 9 wins during the course of the season, with six of those coming during Silva's time in charge.
They finished 59 points behind Antonio Conte's side, an enormous gulf in class between the sides at the top and bottom of the league.
Cup Failures
Hull did have a good run in the cups this season, reaching the Semi-Finals of the EFL Cup losing to eventual winners Manchester United over two legs.
They exited the FA Cup at the second time of asking, losing 4-1 away against Fulham.
Their main aim was to move the club forward, on the evidence of league and cup performances this season has been a complete failure for Hull.
Top Stats
Robert Snodgrass ended as the club's top Premier League scorer, with the Scottish International scoring 7 goals and registering the third most shots (39) despite leaving in January.
Sam Clucas had an outstanding season registering the most passes (1537), the most shots (42) and the most tackles (89).
Curtis Davies had the most clearances (173), won the most aerial battles (74) and the most interceptions (92).
Their final points tally was 34, that was 6 points behind Watford who finished 17th in the PL.
Transfer Speculation
Marco Silva has been appointed as the new Watford manager, with the Tigers appointing another unknown in Leonid Slutsky.
Slutsky will have a mountainous task on his hands, with the Russian needing to galvanise and stabilise the club.
They have already lost four key players with Tom Huddlestone, Harry Maguire, Elden Jakupovic and Ahmed Elmohamady.
This will be a tough period for the club, much like Villa last season there is a real danger that they could be in this division for some time.
