Swansea's Final Premier League Position: 15th
This Premier League Review sees Swansea's season assessed, with the Swans enduring another tough season.
Francesco Guidolin's side came into the season on the back of a 12th placed finish, with the Swans ending the season 10 points clear of the relegation zone.
The manager merry go round was in full swing at the Welsh club, with as many as three managers at the club during this campaign.
Guidolin started the season but was sacked in October, with the Swans winning just one match, which was the opening game of the season.
They bought in American Bob Bradley, with the American lasting just 84 days in the job, with a record of W2, D2, 7L.
The club finally settled on highly rated coach and former Derby manager Paul Clement, who secured the clubs place in the Premier League.
Tough Start
Swansea endured a tough start to the season, winning just one of their opening 12 matches.
They won just three matches under the stewardships of Guidolin and Bradley which is appalling.
In January they appointed Paul Clement, that was an excellent appointment that paid immediate dividends.
They lost 21 matches in total, that was 6 more than they lost the previous season, their defence was really poor.
All of the sides around them will be looking to strengthen during the summer, it is vital that the Swans do the same.
Swansea registered 12 wins during the course of the season, level pegging with several other sides above them.
They finished 52 points behind Antonio Conte's side, despite taking a point off them at home.
Cup Failures
Swansea have had a mixed run in the cups this season, narrowly losing to Manchester City in the early stages of the EFL Cup.
They also exited the FA Cup at the first time of asking, losing 2-0 at home against Hull City.
Along with their poor form in the league their cup performances have been poor, this is another growing inditement of the lack of respect that the domestic cups get.
Top Stats
Fernando Llorente ended as the club's top Premier League scorer, with the Spaniard scoring 15 goals and winning the most aerial battles (156).
Gylfi Sigurdsson had the most assists (13), as well as scoring nine goals, perfectly highlighting his quality.
Kyle Naughton had the most passes (1392) and the most tackles (76).
Federico Fernandez had the most clearances (187) and Jack Cork the most interceptions (56).
Their final points tally was 41, that was 6 points less than last season, but crucially they finished three places lower.
Overall it's another poor season for Swansea, given the quality within the squad and the managerial chaos.
Transfer Speculation
Paul Clement will have a huge job on to rebuild after this poor season, he will need to get the best out of this talented squad.
The main issue for Swansea in recent times has been their defence, they will need to buy the quality needed.
They have signed the Dutch goalkeeper Erwin Mulder, with Tammy Abraham also linked with the club.
Their biggest issue will be holding onto their key players, with Fernando Llorente and Gylfi Sigurdsson priceless to the club.
