Celtic face PSG at Parkhead on Tuesday evening, in the first round of Champions League group stage matches this season.

The Hoops come into this match in excellent form, they have extended their unbeaten run in the league in this campaign.

They won their last match against Hamilton 4-1, a clinical performance from Brendan Rodgers side.

Stuart Armstrong (17) opened the scoring for Celtic, curling a right footed shot into the bottom corner.

Scott Sinclair scored a first half double (29, 42), giving the Hoops a 3-0 lead with three minutes before the interval.

Odsonne Edouard (65) put the icing on the cake with 25 minutes to go, making it 4-0 to the Champions.

Alex Gogic scored a consolation goal for the hosts with four minutes remaining (86), the gulf between the two sides still huge though.

Top Of The League

Rodgers will be delighted with the Hoops start this season, they have extended their unbeaten run in the league to 43 games.

They are level on points with Aberdeen, but the result against Hamilton will give them great confidence.

Celtic qualified for the group stage after an excellent 8-4 aggregate win over Astana.

The Hoops face an almighty challenge in the form of PSG, who boast the likes of Neymar, Cavani and Kylian Mbappe.

 

Hoops Underdogs

Celtic do come into this match as underdogs, despite their excellent start to this new season and home advantage.

This is a tough group and match for Celtic, progression in Europe will be Celtic's main aim this season.

The Hoops have never faced the Parisians in a competitive fixture.

PSG come into this match on the back of a 5-1 win away against Metz, a great result for the Parisians.

Edinson Cavani (31) opened the scoring for the visitors, with the first of two goals on the night.

Metz equalised just six minutes later, with Emmanuel Riviere (37) drawing the hosts level.

The match burst into life when former Tottenham man Benoit Assou-Ekotto (56) was sent off.

PSG made the extra man advantage count, with Kylian Mbappe-Lottin (59) and Neymar (69) making it 3-1.

Edinson Cavani (75) scored his second and PSG's fourth, before Lucas Moura (87) made it 5-1 with three minutes to go.

 

Champions League Target

PSG have had an excellent start to their domestic campaign, with five wins from five matches.

Neymar Mbappe, Cavani and co have contributed heavily with PSG scoring an incredible 19 goals already.

The Champions League will be the Parisians main target this season, given the money they have invested nothing less than winning the competition will be accepted.

With the talent they have both in the squad and on the pitch it is a very realistic aim.

Parisians Favourites

Unai Emery's side come into this match as favourites, with their star studded line up and excellent form informing the bookies.

This will be a tough match for PSG, with Parkhead a tough ground for opposition sides down the years.

PSG will be looking to get their Champions League campaign off to a winning start.
