Richard Fahey’s horse Ribchester won a good race yesterday at Deauville, as I wrote on Saturday, big things were expected of him against Galileo Gold and he didn’t disappoint. William Buick travelled from Chicago to France for the ride and they were both on top form. Well done to them both. Both horses will next meet in the Queen Elizabeth ll Stakes.

Back to today, lots of racing around at Windsor, Thirsk, Chelmsford, Roscommon in Ireland and Deauville in France. We turn to Windsor at 7.30 this evening, where Clear Spring is running. Trained by John Spearing he was unlucky on his last visit when he was boxed in but still managed fourth. Today if he gets a good run at it he should be able to pull up ahead, this is his distance. Odds are good for Clear Spring this morning you can get 16/1 with Skybet.

He is far from the favourite today, with the bookies favouring Rio Ronaldo, trained by Mike Murphy. He has won and been placed on this course, so it looks set to be a great race. Odds on Rio Ronaldo this morning are 4/1 with Bet365.

Second favourite today is Rosie’s Premiere, trained by Dean Ivory’s. Last time on this track he came fourth so if she can pull through the throng she could do much better today. Odds on Rosie’s Premiere are 6/1 with Ladbrokes.

There are 14 runners and riders today and it’s over a distance of six furlongs, which to be fair is a good distance for Clear Spring, most of the tipsters are backing her today, so good Luck to her.

This week has lots of racing being run, Saturday is the big race at York at The Ebor Festival. Just in case you were wondering why it’s called the Ebor, Ebor is an abbreviation of the Latin Eborcoreum, which is the early name for York in Britain. All the great trainers and jockeys will be there, racing starts on Wednesday and I will do a full preview for you then, but here are a few names to watch out for. Sir Michael Stoute, the trainer is the most successful trainer with seven wins of The Ebor, but watch out for Aidan O’Brien and his horse Idaho.

Take particular notice on day one though with the Betway Great Voltigeur, this group two race has produced thirteen St Leger winners over the years. This looks set to be another great week of racing.

Good Luck today.
