Today is the start of the Doncaster Festival, with the highlight race of the week on Saturday the Ladbrokes St Leger, Idaho is the favourite to win and Ladbrokes are offering you money back if Idaho does win.

Back to today, the first day of the celebrations is known as Leger Legends Day, with the first race at 2.00pm and the last at 5.15, seven races in total for today’s card. Starting with the first race, the Legends of racing come together to race for a charitable cause, this started in 2010 all the ex-championship jockeys make a comeback for charity. Today is no different with the likes of Richard Hughes, Dale Gibson, Gay Kellaway and Joseph O’Brien. AP McCoy has also raced in this race in previous years. The Legends race starts at 3.35 and Bluff Crag is the favourite, ridden by Richard Hughes, this horse is in form and looks set to dominate the course of seventeen runners. Odds on Bluff Crag are 7/2 with William Hill.

Bluff Crag

Second in the favourites list is Hijran, ridden by Gay Kellaway today, he’s very lucky to be in this race, he’s been doing really well so far this year, so only just made the eligibility criteria. The tipsters are backing him today but the bookies are favouring Bluff Crag. Hijran has odds of 5/1 with Ladbrokes today.

Lined up next in the top three is Sophisticated Heir, he came fourth last time out at Redcar, although he’s topping the bookies table, he seems to be out of favour with the tipsters today, with none of them thinking he could place in the top three. Sophisticated Heir has odds of 8/1 with Coral today.

Two runners up that the tipsters are looking favourably on are Pike Corner Cross and Chiswick Bey. Pike Corner Cross is ridden by Ollie Pears and came first on his last outing at Kempton and Chiswick Bey is ridden by Dale Gibson and didn’t place on his last outing, last week. Odds on Pike Corner Cross today are 9/1 with Bet365 and Chiswick Bey is 10/1 with Paddy Power.

Plenty of other racing around today and for the rest of the week, check back here for updates on DFS Ladies Day tomorrow at Doncaster and Gentlemen’s Day on Thursday.

Good Luck today.
