This is a two miles and three furlong handicap chase. Kayfton Pete is a the top of the handicap even though he has come down the weights a little of the course of the past few months from on high of 109 to his current mark of 103. After being a comfortable winner in May his form has been very average since then and it would take quite a turn around to see him figure here.

Keychain has been hurdling since being pulled up in a handicap chase at the same level as today, at Towcester in May. His jumping let him down badly that day and it appears they sent him hurdling to get some confidence back. He's had a string of consistent performances without getting his head in front and it would be taking a chance on his jumping being much improved to be able to back him here.

Dr Anubis gets plenty of weight all round but he is racing from well outside handicap and has been running in much lower class races than this. He has been rated as high as 99 over hurdles but it would take a huge upturn in form to get involved today.

Ashcott Boy won by a long way at Worcester last time out and he has subsequently been raised by seven pounds because of that win. He has D G Noonan on board again and his seven pound claim will definitely help. It's a step up in class today but he looks nicely on the upgrade and he doesn't have a great deal to beat today so if he turns up in similar form a second victory in a week looks likely.

Ballyarthur for the Twiston-Davies team has won a point to point and looks to at least have some potential as has Fact Of The Matter as he won a bumper last month. I'm not sure that was a particularly strong race however and he would need to improve a lot to figure here.

Denboy for Jamie Snowdon looks nicely enough bred so it is worth taking a note on how his price reacts in the betting.

Nabucco for the Ferguson team looks the one to be on here. He won a novice hurdle last time out in the same class of today's race and although he is giving weight all round he appears to be a class above his rivals. He won a couple of Listed races on the flat so has plenty of speed and if he reproduces the form of his win at Market Rasen in July he looks to have this race wrapped up.
