The five year old trained by David Pipe is the most tipped outsider today. Ridden by Conner O’Farrell she looks set to take the lead in today’s At the Races Mares Standard Open National Hunt at Newton Abbot running at 4.20 this afternoon. William Hill has the price at 3/1, with Bet365 placing her at 7/2 the price dropping from this morning’s 10/1 showing how much interest has piqued in her today. She had a good first race and the going is soft which she favours, so should do well. There are 15 runners and riders in today’s race for her to pit her wits against. Look out for her Pink silks.
Pampanini on the other hand, has had a disappointing last few runs and today returns wearing a tongue strap, so don’t write her off just yet. Trained by Harry Fry and ridden by Noel Fehily, together they have had thirty eight joint winners this season so the luck may be with them today. An each way on Pampanini should be a safe bet today. With odds at 9/2 and 5/1 respectively with William Hill and Bet365 she is favored in second place for today. Wearing green and white striped silk with a red bands on the arm.
One of the only other horses in contention is Theatre Rouge, trained by Philip Hobbs and ridden by Michael Nolan, again she disappointed in her last race, but all hopes are that today she will do better. Odds are 5/1 and 9/2 with the aforementioned bookies and again an each way bet looks like the way to go. Today wearing white silks with green sleeves.
All three trainers are doing extremely well this season, but the Fry/Fehily combo is streets ahead of the other two pairs on 38 wins, with O’Farrell/Pipe only making seven joint wins, but the punters money is with Miss Williams today so there must be something about the horse that makes you all keen to back her. Let’s hope you all got the earlier price on her and are in for a top race.
