16:10 Yarmouth

This looks a high-quality handicap being run over 14 furlongs on soft going at Yarmouth.

The Mick Quinn trained Great Hall is at the top of the handicap on a mark of 100 and he is chasing a hat-trick here today after two wins over a mile and a half at Ascot in soft conditions. In both of those races, he was staying on well at the finish so that bodes well for him seeing out the extra two furlongs in this race. He does have another five pounds to cope with but appears in really good shape at the moment and looks to have a great chance of going well.

Theydon Grey did complete a hat trick prior to his last race at Newmarket where it appeared the handicapper had finally caught up with him. He did race extremely keenly that day so if he can settle better today he will at least give himself a chance. I don't think the softer conditions are ideal for him but he has won over 12 to 16 furlongs in his last three wins so the distance shouldn't be a problem. The promising Georgia Cox takes the ride again today and she claims a handy five pounds which is sure to help.

Alqamar, trained by Charlie Appleby, won a 0-80 handicap as easily as he liked at York on soft going in May before being outclassed and finishing mid-division in a Group 2 at the Royal meeting. He was a decent enough second last time out at Ascot but this is quite a step up in trip and the breeding of this Dubawi gelding doesn't necessarily suggest he will see out this longer trip.

Sir Michael Stoute runs Nadaitak and he has been running very consistently, with a win, three seconds and a third place in his last six races. He goes well in the softer conditions and got home well over two miles last time out so today's trip shouldn't be a problem.

John Gosden and Ryan Moore team up with Zenon and he was completely tailed off last time out at Goodwood in a Listed race. He was entered into the St Leger earlier on in the season so they obviously think a lot of him, even if he has flattered to deceive a little so far. The booking of Ryan Moore is an eye-catching one and it would be no surprise to see him bounce back to form and go well.
