Europa League
The last 32 of the Europa League culminates tonight with all three of the English sides ties delicately balanced, two are all square and one a goal behind.
Liverpool host German side Augsburg after being held to a nil nil draw in Germany. An away goal would have obviously been nice, however it was the team from Merseyside which made the majority of the running and I expect them to create enough chances tonight to win the leg comfortably enough. They play the Capital One Cup final on Sunday but I don't think that will have an impact on the team selection tonight as this competition is their only realistic chance of qualifying for the Champion League.
An attacking trio of Coutinho, Firmino and Sturridge should get another outing and there are sign that the three of them are already starting to click. Sturridge will have had another week to work on his fitness and if they play as they can, it will be too much for the German team to handle.
Man Utd had a bit of a shock loss in Denmark against Midtjylland, going down 2-1 after taking the lead, however they are very short priced favourites tonight and even though their form has been pretty woeful, I think they will prove too good for the Danish minnows and progress to the last 16. Wayne Rooney is still injured so an attacking trio of Depay, Martial and Lindegaard should continue and the youngsters are starting to find the net with increasing regularity.
Spurs face the toughest test of the three Premier League teams, but they did come back from Italy with an impressive one all draw against Fiorentina. That away goal could prove crucial and I fully expect them to get at the Italian team from the start. Harry Kane didn't start in the Stadio Artemio Franchi and if he does tonight he can provide the cutting edge that Spurs need to go through to the last 16.
