Exeter-Racecourse

16:25 Exeter

A good looking novices' handicap chase over three miles with five runners who all have a chance on the face of it.

Cyclop is the youngster of the field at five years old but appears a nice prospect and although the outsider of the field, if he continues to progress the way he has he definitely has a chance, especially given his age to weight allowance. I do wonder if he would prefer to be going over a further distance however.

Kingswell Theatre is the top rated of the field although his recent form has been pretty average. He was pulled up last time out in a Grade 2, so can be forgiven that considering it was a much better race than this. Prior to that he was behind Cyclop at Haydock, although is four pounds better off with that rival today.

Milansbar has been running well without winning and it is surely only a matter of time before he gets his head back in front. I don't think that will be today though as he is a mudlark and would prefer the going to be more on the heavy side of things.

Imagine The Chat is another who was pulled up last time out in heavy going that he didn't seem to like. Before that race he won a reasonable race at Newbury very easily, however he was hiked up in the weight because of that and it looks like his current mark may prevent him from getting his head in front today.

Threefaceswest for Philip Hobbs was a smart enough hurdler who ran into second place on his chase debut at Huntingdon. That trip was definitely on the short side and the three miles today will be right up his street in my opinion. He will hopefully come on again for that performance and he looks like he will take all the beating today is he does.
