A five runner handicap hurdle over two miles with just the five runners is an interesting proposition all the same.
Russian Royale won well last out at Market Rasen last time out over two miles where she was ridden clear comfortably. She has been raised nine points for that win which is definitely going to be a hindrance.
Stoneham has been running over the flat so will definitely be match fit and her last hurdles run ended in victory at Worcester in June. That was also over two miles in this class and she is two pounds lower today, therefore if she runs her race she surely has a chance of being involved at the business end of things.
Hatton Springs is yet to win and has alternated between hurdles and the flat. Her flat rating is really low which shows she doesn't particularly have any speed and although she has dropped down the weights a little for her hurdle rating she will need to show something she hasn't so far to be involved here.
Our Phylli Vera hasn't really shown any kind of form for a while now so is impossible to fancy.
Western Breeze has had just the two runs over hurdles so far with a second place and a win to her name. Last time out she beat hot favourite from the Nicky Henderson yard who subsequently won a similar race comfortably enough. She has been given a rating of 110 which looks a reasonable enough mark and I fully expect her to win here and go onto better things. There is plenty of potential improvement in her and I can't see anything in this field that can trouble her.
