What a week in football! Congratulations to Chelsea, a dogged performance and well deserved. But up in the North West, Kenny got his cards – he’d been one of the favourites for a couple of months – but who’s next for the poisoned chalice at Anfield? Martinez (Wigan, and before that Swansea), Rodgers (Swansea) and even Benitez are seemingly in the frame. Other names include AVB and even Fabio Capello. TheSwanseaowners seem to be able to find good managers, maybeLiverpoolshould ask them for advice. Anyway, what’s the money saying?

Skybet are giving 10/1 on Didier Deschamps, but who’d lay money on Harry Redknapp at 9/1? There’s no way he’d move for anything less than the England job, and that’s gone. I reckon he’s got a real chance of taking Spurs to the Premier League title next season, but at Anfield he’d be starting all over again. With a tight contract at White Hart Lane, not even a £30m summer transfer fund at Anfield could get him unlocked.

Martinez is the favourite at 6/4 with AVB at 11/4, and Capello is seen as an outsider at 20/1. Benitez is at 7/1, and he’s my personal bet.

Congratulations to the world’s top rated horse. It was great to see Frankel put on such a fine performance over at Newbury after his recent injury scare. You’ve got to be a serious punter to lay at 2/7, but with a 100% record what can you say? Tom Queally certainly brings in the business and jockey would seem to have a permanent ride there. This week Sir Henry Cecil said that he’d love to see a match with Black Caviar. We’d all savour that, and Sir Henry said that the Sussex Stakes would probably be the only opportunity in 2012.  The Qipco Sussex Stakes is on 1st August. The race sponsors have promised to raise the prize-money to £1 million if Frankel and the Australian champion turn up. Who would dare to call that one?

  1. don’t think the clash will ever happen and to be honest whilst the Aussie sprinters are good the rest don’t seem up to much.So you think was supposed to be a world beater mmmm. Lets see what Black Caviare can do. Its just a pity our sprinters at the moment are not brilliant and whilst i am not knocking Black Caviare.. i would like to see how she performs over here before joining in on the bandwagon singing her praises
If you want a prediction over a mile Black Caviare would only get a distant view of Frankels backside
