Liverpool

Liverpool welcome Manchester United to Anfield on Monday afternoon, in one of the biggest matches of the season.

Jurgen Klopp's side come into this match on the back of a 2-1 win against Swansea, prior to the international break.

It was a match that ultimately cost Swansea manager Francesco Guidolin his job, it stretched Liverpool's winning streak to five matches.

Leroy Fer opened the scoring for Swansea in the 8th minute, with Roberto Firmino equalising in the 54th minute.

With James Milner bravely stepping up to score an 84th-minute penalty to secure all three points for the Reds.

Liverpool In Excellent Form

Liverpool have had an excellent start this season, with the defeat to Burnley their only blemish.

Under Klopp the Reds have flourished in attack, with the Reds matching Manchester City for most goals scored this season, 18 in 7 games.

Liverpool have won five of their seven matches, with wins against Leicester, Arsenal, Chelsea, Hull and Swansea.

They have proved to be one of the form sides when up against their rivals, their troubles usually come against the lower sides.

United In Need Of Win

Manchester United travel to Anfield in much need of a win, after a disappointing 1-1 draw against Stoke.

It's a result that Jose Mourinho will have been disappointed with, his side failing to capitalise on their dominance in the game.

United struggled until the 69th minute, when Antony Martial opened the scoring with an excellent left-footed shot into the top right-hand corner.

A costly and rare mistake from David de Gea gifted Stoke an equaliser, with Joe Allen scoring his second consecutive goal to give Stoke a share of the spoils.

Mourinho Yet To Settle Side

Manchester United will have targeted a win against Stoke as a minimum requirement, given their tough run of fixtures and the fact that they were at home.

Mourinho's side have been unpredictable this season, with defeats against Watford, Manchester City and Feyenoord putting the Portuguese under early pressure.

The main headline over the last few weeks has been Wayne Rooney, he has been relegated from both United and England's starting eleven.

Jose Mourinho will be looking to keep United's excellent recent run against Liverpool intact, with a win going a long way to kick starting United's season.

United Underdogs

Manchester United come into this match as underdogs, they will be looking to register their fifth win of this new Premier League season.

This will be a tough fixture for United, historically they have struggled at Anfield but they have won their last two matches there under former manager Louis Van Gaal.

Jose Mourinho's men will be looking to maintain their record against Liverpool, in 168 matches they have won 67, lost 56 and drawn 45.

Manchester United are 23/10 with Zlatan Ibrahimovic at 6/1 to score first.
