Manchester City vs Stoke – Saturday 14th October 2017 – 15:00

Man City are 1/6 with Gabriel Jesus at 9/4 to score first.

Manchester City face Stoke at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon, in the eighth round of Premier League matches.

Pep Guardiola's side come into this match on the back of a 1-0 win against Chelsea, continuing their excellent start to their season.

Former Blues player Kevin De Bruyne scored the only goal of the game (67), with an outstanding strike enough to beat compatriot Thibaut Courtois.

Guardiola's side were outstanding at the Bridge, enjoying a remarkable 62% of the ball, unheard of at the Bridge.

They dominated total shots (17) and converted more of them on target (6), dwarfing the hosts performance entirely.

This was a tough performance and result for Chelsea, they produced very little in terms of clear-cut chances.

Unbeaten Start

Manchester City have had an unbeaten start to this season, in Stoke they face a side who are in the bottom half of the table.

They are joint top of the Premier League, with an identical record to neighbours Manchester United.

City have been in imperious form this season, their only blemish has been the draw with Everton but overall they have been outstanding.

They will remain top of the Premier League with a win over Stoke, with United facing a tough challenge in the form of Liverpool.

City Favourites

Pep Guardiola's side come into this match as favourites, with home advantage informing the bookies.

This will be a match that City will target no less than three points, they will be looking for a big win.

Man City will be looking for a third win in four matches against Stoke.

Mixed Start

The Potters come into this match in mixed form, despite securing a much-needed win against Southampton prior to the international break.

They beat the Saints 2-1 at the Bet365 Stadium, an excellent win for Mark Hughes' men.

Mame Biram Diouf opened the scoring for Stoke on the stroke of half-time (40), with the forward heading his side in front.

Saido Berahino saw his penalty saved by Fraser Forster just three minutes later, after Van Dijk brought him down in the area.

The Saints pulled one back through Maya Yoshida with just fifteen minutes to go (75), the defender handing his side a lifeline.

Peter Crouch snatched a late winner for Stoke (85), with the former England international scoring a vital goal with just five minutes remaining to make it 2-1.

Huge Result

That was a good result for Mark Hughes and Stoke, the Potters have been lacking in consistency this season.

Stoke are at the wrong end of the table, they find themselves 13th in the Premier League, with eight points in their opening seven matches.

They have a tough challenge in this match, they face a rampant Manchester City side who have beaten nearly every side in their wake.

Stoke do have a great recent record against Man City, with Hughes holding City to a goalless draw last season.

Potters Underdogs

Stoke come into this match as the underdogs, with the City's home advantage and excellent form informing the odds.

Mark Hughes' side face an uphill task against a free-scoring City side, they have put eight past them in the last three games.

Palace will be looking for a first win against Manchester City in four matches.

Stoke are 14/1 with Eric Choupo Moting at 11/1 to open the scoring.
